About Red Whale

We are one of the UK's leading medical education providers, delivering high quality training and resources to around 30,000 primary care colleagues each year! Online and face to face, our courses are varied, engaging, and suitable for GPs and all clinicians within primary care.

How Red Whale started

In 2007, two practising GPs (who went on to become Red Whale team members) had a dream of helping themselves and their colleagues by taking CPD from a tick box exercise to a practical tool that could support them in everyday practice.

Over 15 years later, we have a new name, more than 50 team members and 30,000 primary care clinicians learning with us each year - but Red Whale still has its roots firmly in that dream of helping our colleagues. The desire to be a force for good remains at the heart of our business.

What we do

Our mission is to provide you with the best quality medical education in the UK – creating content that you can put into practice straight away, making your life a little bit easier and enabling you to provide your patients with safe care.

How we support you

We work hard to cater to the different learning styles of all primary care clinicians, at different stages in their career; from our flagship face to face update courses, to online courses, and online written resources you can access 24/7.

Whilst we can’t promise to make the long days shorter or your appointment list any less crowded, we can promise that we will do some of the hard work for you -  producing relevant content and tools to help you deal with the challenges you face every day, saving you a little bit of  time and energy.

Our values

The quality of our education is our guiding principle. We aren’t perfect, but we never knowingly let our standards drop and on the rare occasion we do make a mistake, we will tell you and apologise.

We hold our customers, colleagues, suppliers and environmental concerns at the forefront of every decision. We strive to do better by our stakeholders, even when it costs us more. While all that might sound a bit serious, we never take ourselves too seriously and aim to make our learning engaging with a pinch of good humour!

Oh, and you’ve probably heard us mention this before, but we will never ever take pharmaceutical company sponsorship of any kind: no exhibitors, no pharma sponsored mail shots, not even a biscuit, a pen or a sticky note. And we’re shamelessly proud of it!

Support with your appraisal from Red Whale and FourteenFish

Red Whale and FourteenFish have been supporting each other for many years. FourteenFish was started by a GP who wanted better options for appraisal and re-validation.

With an incredibly friendly system, mobile apps, and powerful features, FourteenFish makes preparing for your next appraisal much easier.

Redwhale.co.uk integrates seamlessly with FourteenFish to make recording CPD for your appraisal simple so any updates you make to your CPD tracker on Red Whale will automatically show up on FourteenFish.
